Well did you do it?!
February 8, 2016
Well did you get your tax return in on time? Tax issues can be funny sometimes!
The deadline for the 2014/2015 tax returns was 31st January 2016. Those of you who are self- employed needed to submit on line on 31st January or via your accountant by 29th January so as not to incur a £100 fine. Our PAYE contractors can sit back and relax as it has been done for you already by Carrington Umbrella.
Nevertheless we thought you might like to hear some of the excuses given to HMRC for submitting late tax returns;
I’m not a paperwork-orientated person – I always relied on my sister to complete my returns but we have now fallen out.
My accountant has been ill.
My dog ate my tax return. (Does this remind you of school?).
I will be abroad on deadline day with no internet access so will be unable to file.
My laptop broke.
My niece had moved in – she made the house so untidy I could not find my log-in details to complete my return online.
My tax papers were left in the shed and the rat ate them.
If you are self- employed and having problems with your tax return, or want help with next year’s do not hesitate to contact our sister company, Carrington Accountancy
