Carrington has become the latest firm to become accredited by The Freelancer and Contractor Services Association (FCSA) for its accountancy and umbrella services. FCSA accreditation demonstrates to freelancers, contractors and recruitment businesses that members are acting both professionally and ethically within the UK tax, employment and regulatory laws. Coupled with financial stability tests, FCSA accreditation is proof that professional businesses can take the lead in delivering the highest levels of industry standards.
Carrington Accountancy was founded in 1996 by Nicky Owen and Carrington Umbrella was established in 2000, to provide professional, compliant and tailored services to the UK’s flexible workforce.
On becoming FCSA accredited, Nicky Owen said: “Being recognised by the leading professional body in our industry is fantastic news for Carrington and fitting reward for the commitment, dedication and hard work that the team puts in. We are delighted to have secured FCSA accreditation and are looking forward to working with other members to drive up standards and provide contractors and recruiters with services that are second to none.”
To become an accredited member, applicants must undergo an independent and rigorous assessment of their business services, operations, policies and processes, all of which are examined to ensure adherence to FCSA compliance standards.
FCSA’s chief executive, Julia Kermode added: “It is no easy process to become FCSA accredited and I would like to congratulate Carrington for passing our rigorous assessment and welcome them on board. It is a great achievement and something to be celebrated. FCSA accredited membership is the quality mark that every contractor and recruiter should look for when considering a professional services company so that they can rest assured that they will be getting professional and expert advice they can rely on.”
About FCSA:
The Freelancer & Contractor Services Association (FCSA) is the leading professional membership body for umbrella employers and accountancy service providers supporting the financial affairs of professional contractors. FCSA exists to safeguard the long-term future of the professional freelance sector for the benefit of the UK economy, by promoting compliance and best practice in order to minimise risk in the supply chain.
Through its code of compliance, FCSA sets the standards for the service provider sector, and ensures that accredited members operate legally, ethically, and manage all liabilities properly. FCSA Accredited Members are tested against the code annually and must pass in order to retain their accreditation. The testing is carried out independently of FCSA by regulated accountants and solicitors, and a copy of the audit is submitted to HMRC so that they are aware of which firms are low risk.
By choosing to work with an FCSA Accredited Member, agencies, contractors and end-hirers can be assured of regulatory compliance and the highest possible ethical standards.
